Neurodivergent Dating Without the Translation Layer
Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, dyspraxic, dyslexic. A dating community where being neurodivergent is the shared starting point, not the thing you brace yourself to mention.
Who this is for
Neurodivergence is a broad word and it is used loosely. Here it means the people who tend to find mainstream dating apps disproportionately draining: autistic adults, people with ADHD, the very large overlap between the two, and people whose dyspraxia, dyslexia or processing differences shape how they communicate.
What those experiences have in common for dating purposes is not a diagnosis. It is the constant background work of adapting: rehearsing messages, decoding tone, managing sensory load in loud venues, and deciding how much of yourself is safe to show and when.
Take that work away and dating becomes a different activity. That is the whole design brief for this site.
Why neurodivergent people often click with each other
There is a decent body of research now suggesting the communication difficulty runs both ways, rather than sitting with autistic people alone.
The double empathy problem, first set out by the autistic researcher Damian Milton in 2012, argues that breakdowns between autistic and non-autistic people are mutual. Two people with very different ways of experiencing the world each struggle to read the other. It is a mismatch, not a deficit sitting on one side of the conversation.
Studies since have found that information passes between autistic people about as efficiently as it does between non-autistic people, and that it is the mixed pairings where transmission drops off. Autistic participants have also reported greater rapport with other autistic people.
None of this means a neurodivergent person cannot have a wonderful relationship with a neurotypical one. Plenty do. It does mean that if talking to people has always felt like more effort than it seems to be for everyone else, the problem may have been the pairing rather than you.
Built around how we actually communicate
Say what you mean
Direct is the house style. Asking a clear question about what someone wants does not read as intense here, it reads as considerate.
Asynchronous by default
No streaks, no expiring matches, no penalty for taking a day to answer. Executive function has bad weeks. The platform does not punish them.
Interest-led matching
Interest tags surface people who care about the same specific things, which for a lot of neurodivergent people is the natural route into closeness.
Sensory reality respected
Members routinely propose quiet, low-stimulus first dates. Suggesting a walk instead of a crowded bar needs no apology and no explanation.
Nothing to disclose
You are not carrying a piece of information that could end things. Everyone opted into a neurodivergent space on the way in.
Moderated and private
Profile verification, active moderation, 24/7 customer care, and discreet billing.
Autistic and ADHD at the same time
The combination, often shortened to AuDHD, was not formally recognised until the DSM-5 allowed a joint diagnosis in 2013. Before that, clinicians had to choose one. A lot of adults are still untangling what that meant for them.
Dating with both can feel contradictory from the inside: wanting routine and wanting novelty, needing detail and losing the thread, going all in and then needing to disappear for two days.
It is a lot less contradictory to somebody who lives it too.

Common questions
Do I need a diagnosis to join?
No. Self-identifying members are welcome and nobody is asked for paperwork. Adult assessment waiting lists are long and private assessment is costly, so a diagnosis-only rule would shut out a large part of the community.
Is this only for autistic people?
The community is autistic-led and autistic adults are the largest group, but ADHD, AuDHD, dyspraxic and dyslexic members are all part of it. Some members are neurotypical and specifically want to date a neurodivergent partner.
Is it free?
Joining, creating a profile, browsing and matching are free. VIP is optional, adds unlimited messaging and advanced features, and can be managed or cancelled online at any time.
Can I use it on a computer rather than an app?
Yes. It runs in a browser on desktop, tablet and phone, so there is nothing to install and no notification pressure unless you want it.
Which countries is it available in?
Members are across the UK, United States, Australia, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand, and you control how far your search reaches.
How is safety handled?
Profile verification, active moderation, a firm line on harassment and 24/7 customer care. Anything uncomfortable can be reported from the profile or the conversation.
